Successful people never give up. That is largely what sets them aside from the rest. When obstacles get in the way of their dreams and ambitions, they find a way around them.
They simple are not prepared to give up. Long after the majority of the population have thrown the towel in and given up, successful people will keep pushing to achieve what they have set out to achieve.
Being persistent and never giving up, is especially helpful when job hunting. Especially in today’s job market, where competition is fierce. It is easy to quit, it is easy to make excuses and to justify why you have failed. However by persevering and moving forward regardless of what obstacles are in the way, and by not quitting, you are always one step closer to your goal.
Job hunting in today’s world is tough, and it is certainly not for the fainthearted. One has to have a tough skin and be persistent. The internet has made it very easy for people to search and apply for jobs, but the reality is that even though we have access to all these jobs worldwide, that under normal circumstances we would never have known about, our chances of being even called in for an interview are very slim.
For every 100 applications for a job only a handful of those will actually even make it to the interview stage.
For this reason, job seekers have to develop a tough skin and learn not to take it personally if their resume disappears into a great black hole and they do not even get an acknowledgement that their resume has been seen, let alone make it to the interview stage. They need to be persistent, remain positive and to be resilient.
The key to success is hanging on after others have let go. Being positive and not becoming discouraged goes a long way in job hunting. Being committed to your goal and believing in yourself is key to succeeding in life.
